Mauricio Leiva Cock '13 Receives Tribeca Film Institute Grant

Mauricio Leiva Cock ’13 was awarded a grant from the Tribeca Institute Latin American Fund for his feature film The Life and Death of Espíritu Perdomo. The fund issues grants of up to $12,000 to support artists living and working in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central and South America.

The Life and Death of Espíritu Perdomo tells the story of a gravedigger who creates a society of the dead to escape the harsh realities of his war-torn world.

Cock grew up in Colombia and has had his shorts played at festivals around the world, including the Toronto International Film Festival Talent Lab, Buenos Aires Talents, Beijing and Huesca. In addition to Espíritu Perdomo, he is also developing a TV series and another feature film.
