Alumnus Nathan Floody '12 has been busy this year as an editor on two successful shows, Hulu’s Life & Beth as well as Peacock’s Girls5eva. He edited two episodes of the former, titled Leonard and Out on the Island. For Girls5eva, he edited three episodes of the show’s second season (2.2, 2.3 and 2.5).

“As an editor, I’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with some of the funniest and most talented people in comedy today,” Floody commented. “It is extremely rewarding to help bring these projects to life and play a unique part in the creative process.”

In Amy Shumer’s Life & Beth, the title character Beth starts having flashbacks to her teen self after an unexpected incident. Through these flashbacks, she learns how she became who she is and who she wants to become.

Girls5eva follows a one-hit-wonder band from the '90s that gets a second shot at fame when a young rapper samples their song.

Nathan Floody is a 2012 graduate of Columbia University with an MFA in screenwriting. His final short film Hunters was awarded Faculty Honors and won the Fox/Farrelly Brothers Outstanding Achievement in Comedy Award. Nathan has worked as an editor on various projects including Life & Beth (Hulu), Girls5Eva (Peacock), Inside Amy Schumer (Comedy Central) and Patriot Act (Netflix). In 2019, he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Single Camera Editing on The Who Was? Show (Netflix).
