Alumna Larysa Kondracki ’01 (GS) executive produces 'Them: Covenant'

Film and Media Studies BA alumna Larysa Kondracki ’01 (GS) joined the upcoming Amazon Prime show Them: Covenant as an executive producer. Kondracki, an accomplished director who signed a first-look television deal with Amazon in 2018, is also set to direct the pilot and multiple other episodes of the show. According to Deadline, the project received a two-season straight-to-series order. With no specific release date set, the series will premiere on Amazon Prime in winter 2020.

Them: Covenant is set in 1953 when Henry and Lucky Emory (Deborah Ayorinde and Ashley Thomas) move their family from North Carolina to a seemingly idyllic all-white neighborhood in Los Angeles. But the tree-lined street becomes ground zero for malevolent forces both real and supernatural.

Larysa Kondracki was born in Toronto and studied English and theater at McGill University. She received a BA in Film and Media Studies from Columbia University and directed the short film Viko (2008) which played mainly at film festivals to widespread acclaim. The Whistleblower (2010) was her first feature directorial film starring Rachel Weisz. Kondracki is currently based in Los Angeles and has written feature projects for Focus Features, HBO Films, Participant Media, and Showtime Entertainment, as well as many others. She has numerous projects in development, including The Count of St. Petersburg, which she plans to direct. Her TV directing credits include Better Call SaulLegionThe Americans, and The Walking Dead
