Adam Marple ’10 Produces ‘Audio New Play Festival’ with Steven Gaultney ’10

Directing alumnus Adam Marple ’10 recently produced The Theatre of Others’ Audio New Play Festival with Playwriting alumnus Steven Gaultney ’10 who is the Resident Dramaturg for The Theatre of Others. 

The Audio New Play Festival presented four audio plays examining ideas of transformation, rebirth, reparation, and sacrifice. Interviews with the playwrights and audio productions of their respective plays began releasing on a weekly basis beginning September 2, 2021 on The Theatre of Others Podcast. The audio plays featured Kristina Pakhomova’s Thief, Rachel Chin’s Galatea, Colette Cullen’s Been There, Done That, and Justin Tan and Sabina Gerardi’s Tales from the Arcadia

The Theatre of Others Podcast can be found on Apple podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast services. Interviews with the playwrights and their plays premiered weekly in September and October.

Marple is also directing Thornton Wilder’s The Skin of Our Teeth at The American University in Cairo, Egypt where he is Assistant Professor of Directing. The show runs from November 16 through 24.

Adam Marple is Co-Artistic Director of the internationally recognized Theatre of Others and was Founding Artistic Director of the NYC-based Necessary Theatre Company. Adam has directed over 50 productions and interdisciplinary works Regionally and Off-Broadway in the Americas, in Europe, and across South East Asia.

Steven Gaultney is a Brooklyn-based playwright. His plays include A Thousand Ships at the Bottom of the SeaLimb from LimbNegligence, and Adam’s Dream. He is the resident playwright and dramaturg for The Theatre of Others, which has produced two of his plays. His work has also been developed by Chautauqua Theatre Company and Theatre for a New Audience.
