Art + Life is an intimate conversation series of poets and writers organized by Columbia’s Undergraduate Creative Writing Program for majors and aficionados. It has hosted writers like Pam Grossman, Morgan Parker, Tommy Pico, Jenny Zhang, and many others, and provides an opportunity for students to ask the invited reader questions and to engage in roundtable discussions with the artist.

Naima Coster is the author of two novels, What's Mine and Yours, an instant New York Times bestseller, and her debut, Halsey Street, which was a finalist for the 2018 Kirkus Prize for Fiction. Naima's stories and essays have appeared in Elle, TimeKweli, the New York TimesThe Paris Review DailyThe CutThe Sunday TimesCatapult, and elsewhere. In 2020, she received the National Book Foundation's "5 Under 35" honor. Naima tweets as @zafatista and writes the newsletter, Bloom How You Must. She lives in Brooklyn, NY with her family.
