Emily Wiest is a New York based playwright. She has explored the art of theatre-making by studying text whilst apprenticing for great minds such as Austin Pendleton (Hamlet), Brian Kulick (Mother Courage), Billy Carden (Ensemble Studio Theatre), and Simon McBurney (All My Sons). Her undergraduate Special Studies was on Rockumentary Filmmaking where she created A Digital Love Letter to Slim Shady, a cinematic self-portrait (short film) and Wal-Mart (video art). BadPuss: A Popumentary is Emily’s first feature film and is currently being distributed through indieflix. Emily also wrote Lackadaisical Baby (full-length screenplay.) Emily's theatrical works include Peaches (short), Maude & Benny, Alphabet City, Brother & Sister, and her current work is Babes in the Wood.
