What can Hip Hop teach us about education, culture, and society?

Join practitioners Marlon Richardson aka “Unlearn the World,” Manny Faces, and RMS as they showcase how Hip Hop breaks down academic silos and bridges sociology, education, and cultures. The event will consist of three presentations followed by a panel discussion and a Q&A / networking session.

Manny Faces
Manny Faces is an award-winning journalist, TEDx speaker, and cultural strategist helping remix how society innovates, educates, and uplifts, by unlocking overlooked and misunderstood lessons that can be found in Hip Hop culture. He’s the creator of the podcast Hip Hop Can Save America! and author of the Cornel West–endorsed book, Hip Hop Can Save America! Inspiration for the Nation from a Culture of Innovation, showcasing real-world ways Hip Hop drives positive change.

Marlon Richardson
Marlon Richardson, otherwise known as UnLearn The World, is a chart topping Hip Hop artist and award winning Hip Hop Educator. As a born and bred product of the late 90's New York City underground Hip Hop scene, UnLearn showcases his substantive, yet accessible brand of lyricism, while he chronicles the emotions, triumphs, and tragedies that make up his Urban American experience.

RMS
Rohan Madhav Sridharan, better known as RMS, is an Indian-American Hip Hop artist, producer and filmmaker from New Jersey, based in NYC. He’s known for bridging cultural worlds between the East Coast Hip Hop he grew up with, and the classical Indian musical heritage that’s been in his family for generations. RMS’s roots as a filmmaker and film composer shine through in his discography, as he couples powerful storytelling with cinematic soundscapes - resolute on his mission to inspire people to be proud of their culture and accept themselves.
