The Big Draw: Exhibition
One evening exhibition of drawings produced on October 11 at The Big Draw
Thursday, October 13, 2016, 4:00 - 7:00 pm
The LeRoy Neiman Gallery, Dodge Hall
Drawing is thinking, and thinking is drawing. Everybody draws—from artists to philosophers, dentists, social workers, journalists, therapists, athletes and engineers. Drawing is central to thought and The Big Draw occurs in the center of the university. Held on Low Plaza, this one-day participatory happening encourages people of all backgrounds to simply draw. Sculpture students will fabricate an installation, and faculty of the School of the Arts will lead guided group and individual exercises with easy-to-use materials such as paper, charcoal and ink. No experience or expertise will be required, and all drawing will be equally appreciated and displayed. Everyone is welcome.
Co-sponsored by Alice! Health Promotion, Artist & Craftsman Supply - Harlem, Columbia College/Undergraduate Student Life and the Office of University Life, LeRoy Neiman Gallery.
