Oana Nicola

Oana Nicola is a writer and filmmaker born in Romania and based in New York City. While completing her MFA in poetry at Columbia University, she served as the Columbia Journal Online Poetry Editor and a Columbia Artist/Teachers Site Coordinator.

Her poetry appears in Spectrum Journal, Tint Journal, Divot Lit, and luvsick! mag. She received the 2025 CCS Spectrum Award for poetry and was a finalist for the Agnes Nixon and Kiki McCabe Screenwriting Prize in 2022. She lives in Brooklyn with her partner and their beloved cat, Donkey Kong.
