Mary Cecilia Walker
Mary Cecilia is a Barbadian filmmaker and playwright. Originally moving to New York City to obtain her BFA in Drama from NYU Tisch, she then secured her MFA in Film from Columbia University.
She is a proud recipient of Columbia's Kurt P. Tauber Scholarship, the Bobby Kashif Cox Memorial Screenwriting Scholarship, the Foreign Hollywood Press Association Scholarship, the Diverso Fellowship, and the London-based Royal Court’s Caribbean Writing for Performance Fellowship.
Her most recent film, The Roads We Travel, won Best Student Director at the Barbados Independent Film Festival and continues to travel the world through festivals such as the Caribbean Film Festival in Trinidad, the Black Harvest Film Festival in Chicago, and the CaribbeanTales International Film Festival in Toronto.
