Clarence Coo was previously the Interim Director of Academic Administration of the Theatre Program at Columbia University's School of the Arts and, before that, the Assistant Director of Academic Administration for the Writing Program. He is also an alum of Columbia's MFA Playwriting program. As a playwright, he is the recipient of a Whiting Award, the Weissberger New Play Award, and the Yale Drama Series Prize. He has received fellowships from the Dramatists Guild, the Rita Goldberg Playwrights’ Workshop at the Lark, the New York Foundation for the Arts,
and the Playwrights Realm. He is a member of the Ma-Yi Writers Lab and an alumnus of New Dramatists.
