From director Wes Anderson comes this stop-motion adaptation of children's author Roald Dahl's novel about a fox leading the charge against the farmers. Devil-may-care Mr. Fox (George Clooney) quits his wild ways of hen heckling, turkey taking, and cider sipping to start a country family life with Mrs. Fox (Meryl Streep). When he embarks on “just one more raid” on three nasty farmers, the farmers devise a complex plan to trap Mr. Fox and the other burrowing animals, and end their thieving once and for all.  With the help of his friends and neighbors, Mr. Fox saves his animal community and beats the farmers at their own game.

The BFG

2:45 pm
Dir. Steven Spielberg
2016 I United States I PG, age 7+
115 minutes

Based on the beloved Roald Dahl book, The BFG is a fantasy movie from director Steven Spielberg about a little orphan girl who befriends a Big Friendly Giant. Sophie lives in a London orphanage, where one night she sees a giant lurking in the shadows. The giant whisks Sophie away to Giant Country. Had Bloodbottler, Fleshlumpeater, Bonecruncher, or any other of the giants, carried her off in the middle of the night, she would soon have become breakfast. The two loners form a sweet bond, and Sophie encourages the BFG to be brave and stand up against the nine mean giants. Can the Big Friendly Giant keep the evils of the world at bay?
