Katherine Kiah Moggie '07 to Lead New Chicago Shakespeare Theatre Production

Chicago Shakespeare Theatre just announced the cast and creative team for the upcoming production of Peter Oswald's Mary Stuart, an “electrifying new take on the famously bitter rivalry between Mary, Queen of Scots, and her cousin Elizabeth I, Queen of England” according to The Guardian. The two fierce women at the center of history will be portrayed by alumna K.K. Moggie '07 as Mary and Kellie Overbey as Elizabeth. The production will be directed by Award-winning director Jenn Thompson.

Elizabeth I, Queen of England, must decide the fate of her jailed cousin, Mary, Queen of Scots, accused of treason. Jenn Thompson, former artistic director of The Actors Company Theater, (named “Company of the Year” by The Wall Street Journal during her tenure), stages Peter Oswald’s electrifying take on this fascinating drama.” says the play description. The play was previously acclaimed by The New York Times, Variety and Toronto Star.
