David Henry Hwang awarded at ISPA Congress

Director of the Theatre Program's Playwriting Concentration, David Henry Hwang, was awarded the 2015 Distinguished Artist Award at the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA) Congress this year.
 
The award is presented to artists who have made an outstanding contribution of talent, artistry, dedication and service to the world of the performing arts. Past recipients have included Audra McDonald, Ravi Shankar, Pina Bausch, Stephen Sondheim, Merce Cunningham, Philip Glass, Robert Brustein, Joseph Papp and Martha Graham.
 
Other 2015 ISPA Award recipients included the New England Foundation for the Arts (2015 Angel Award); Graham Sheffield CBE (2015 International Citation of Merit) and Susan Stockton (2015 Patrick Hayes Award).
 
The 67th Annual ISPA Congress, Dynamic Leadership: Creating the Future, ran from January 13 - 15 at various venues throughout New York and had record attendance of over 530 delegates from 54 countries.
