Larissa Rhodes '14 Nominated for PGA Award

Larissa Rhodes '14 was nominated for the Award for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Motion Pictures for her work on Chasing Coral, a Netflix Original Documentary, which premiered on the streaming platform last July.


The documentary follows a team of divers, photographers, and scientists as they set out to document and explore why the coral reefs around the world are vanishing at an unprecedented rate.


The film has been heavily praised - RogerEbert.com gave it 4/4 stars, Andrew Lapin of NPR said, “Chasing Coral should be admired as an earnest effort to educate the masses” and the LA Times’s Kenneth Turan said, “Chasing Coral presents the evidence with beauty, intelligence and a surprising amount of emotion.” The film currently holds a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.


Larissa Rhodes is the director of Creative Development and a Producer at Exposure Labs. She develops and produces projects that are socially motivated and environmentally conscious. She has worked on documentaries and narratives including the Emmy® Award-winning feature documentary, Chasing Ice, which screened at festivals from Sundance, SXSW, and HotDocs to Silverdocs and the Boulder International Film Festival. In 2009, working under an Academy Award nominated documentarian in Bolivia, she directed and produced a short documentary about the world’s largest known lithium deposit.


She holds an MFA in Film from Columbia University and a BFA & BA from the University of Colorado in Film Studies and International Spanish for the Professions.
