The grant, sponsored by the Brooklyn-based film production rental house Eastern Effects, will provide the filmmakers with 30 days of lighting and grip equipment during the film’s production.

Rooftop Films Fund offers nine cash and service grants each year, six for feature films and three for shorts. The grants are offered to filmmakers whose work has screened as part of a Rooftop Films festival, and is intended to assist in the production of an upcoming film; the cash prizes are collected from ticket sales and submission fees to the organization’s popular Summer Series. In addition to offering more than $35,000 in cash grants this year, the fund has provided filmmakers with service grants from Eastern Effects , Edgeworx Studios, Brigade Marketing, Technological Cinevideo Services and Downtown Community Television.
