Current Student Donggyun Han Selected to Participate in 'Talents Tokyo'

Headshot of Donggyun HanCurrent Film student Donggyun Han was selected to participate in Talents Tokyo 2018 with his feature script Hana. Talents Tokyo is one of the international editions of Berlinale Talents and was held from November 19 to 24, 2018 in Japan.


Han developed the script in his second year at Columbia under Adjunct Professor Jessie Keyt and revised in his third year with Professor Trey Ellis.


Berlinale Talents is an annual summit and networking platform of the Berlin International Film Festival. With its roots firmly planted in Berlin, the summit has expanded internationally while retaining a regional perspective and finding support and the necessary amenities in a locally based international film festival or film school. Other International editions of the summit include Talents Beirut in Lebanon, Talents Buenos Aires in Argentina, Talents Guadalajara in Mexico, Talents Durban in South Africa and Talents Sarajevo in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

As mentioned on his website, “Han Donggyun is an award-winning director/writer/colorist based in New York, Seoul and Busan. He received a BA in Film from Hanyang University in 2013. Besides his directorial works, he also works as the chief editor of Korean film magazine [anno.], and writes for the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) and the KMDB (Korean Movie Data Base by Korean Film Archive).
