Acting Alumnus Matt Hurley ’12 performed in two hit television shows in 2019: HBO’s Succession and Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

Hurley played the role of Peter in the second season of Succession. Hurley appears in the 3rd episode, called Hunters. The dark comedy centers on the inner workings of the sprawling media corporation Waystar Royco, which is run by Roy family patriarch Logan Roy, and the maneuverings of his four children, who are struggling to win power and take over the company when their father retires. The family is obscenely rich and characters mostly unlikable, and the show is a commentary on wealth, power, and abuse.

Hurley played the role of Howard in the third season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Hurley appears in the 3rd episode called Pantyhose. Set in 1950s Manhattan, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is a dramedy that centers on Miriam "Midge" Maisel, a sunny, energetic, sharp, Jewish girl who finds herself divorcing her husband following news of his affair, and pursuing a career as a stand up comic. The series follows the trajectory of Midge's journey as she pursues a career in the male-dominated, stand-up comedy profession, and transforms from uptown society matron to East Village club performer.

Hurley has previously appeared in a recurring role in Bocce Ballers in addition to co-starring roles in Hell On WheelsUnraveledMistakes Were Made, and Other Dads
