Support the Next Generation of Artists: Giving Opportunities

Named Fellowships at the School of the Arts support graduate students pursuing the MFA degree in Film, Theatre, Writing, or Visual Arts at Columbia. These funds make all of the difference in supporting students who make the choice to pursue their lives as artists. Donors have the opportunity to meet student fellows, learn how their work is developing, and build a connection with the artists as they grow in their careers.

Create a Fellowship Fund: begins at $10,000

A student Fellow is named in your honor in the discipline of your choice.

Endow a Fellowship Fund: begins at $100,000

This gift will allow you to name in perpetuity a Fellowship Fund and designate it for a particular discipline or other area of interest.

Name a Full-Fellowship Endowment: begins at $1.2M

This gift will provide in perpetuity annual full tuition fellowships for the most promising MFA candidates. You may designate it for a particular discipline or other area of interest. Donors may also choose to support full-fellowships with a current-use gift of $65,000.

Create a cohort of fully-funded Fellows: begins at $3M

This important gift would provide in perpetuity full-fellowships for a cohort of the most sought-after MFA candidates. Student recipients may also be eligible for subsidies for their creative thesis projects, such as film or theatre productions, or visual arts exhibitions.

Name a Program at the School of the Arts: inquire for more information

A transformative gift would dramatically alter how the School of the Arts is able to recruit the most sought-after student artists. This fund would significantly increase fellowship packages for a large group of students. In recognition of this level of support, a program, concentration, or space on campus may be named in the donor’s honor.
