Mei-mei Berssenbrugge '73 was born in Beijing and grew up in Massachusetts. She is the author of fourteen books of poetry, including Hello, the RosesEmpathy, winner of the PEN West Award; I Love Artists: New and Selected Poems. Her most recent book, A Treatise on Stars, was the recipient of the 2020 Bollingen Prize in Poetry. Berssenbrugge’s collaborations include works in theater, dance, and music, as well as works with such visual artists as Richard Tuttle, her husband, and Kiki Smith, with whom she co-created the book Endocrinology. She has received two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, two American Book Awards, and honors from the Western States Art Foundation and the Asian American Writers Workshop. She lives in northern New Mexico.

Campbell McGrath '88 is the author of eleven books of poetry, including Spring Comes to Chicago, Seven Notebooks, XX: Poems for the Twentieth Century, a Finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize, and most recently Nouns & Verbs: New and Selected Poems. He has received numerous awards and prizes for his work, including a MacArthur Fellowship, the Kingsley Tufts Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a USA Knight Fellowship, and a Witter-Bynner Fellowship from the Library of Congress. Born in Chicago, he lives with his family in Miami Beach and teaches at Florida International University, where he is the Philip and Patricia Frost Professor of Creative Writing and a Distinguished University Professor of English.
