Kristen Edney
Kristen Edney is a screen and television writer based in New York City, and has also lived in Cuba and France. Cultural nuance inspires her storytelling. Set in U.S., international and historical settings, Kristen’s stories feature disruptors occupying spaces they’re not meant to be in, utilizing skills they’re not supposed to have.
Kristen was a script researcher on the 2020 Sundance World Cinema Documentary prize winner, "Epicentro." She is a 2022 Diverso Minority Report Fellow, the recipient of a 2023 Sloan Screenplay Grant and Jesse Thompkins III Screenwriting Award. Most recently, Kristen attended the Spring 2024 Cine Qua Non Storylines Lab. She holds a BA in Anthropology and Gender Studies from Columbia University and an MFA from Columbia University's School of the Arts Film Program, with a concentration in television writing . She is currently an adjunct faculty member at Columbia University School of the Arts.
