Judith Solokin

Judith Solodkin is a printmaker and the first woman to graduate as a Master Lithographer from the Tamarind Institute in 1975. Founder of SOLO Impression Inc. in Riverdale, New York, she collaborates with contemporary artists on lithography, embroidery, and fabrication. Solodkin has worked with artists including Louise Bourgeois, Judy Chicago, and James Rosenquist, and her prints are in the collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Tate Gallery, among others.

Her work has been featured in retrospectives such as The Collaborative Print: Works from SOLO Impression at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and she has received numerous accolades, including the Printer Emeritus Award from the Southern Graphics Council International and recognition from the International Print Center New York. Solodkin teaches at the School of Visual Arts and Pratt Institute, and is part of the Advanced Printmaking faculty at Columbia University. She is also a milliner and a proud member of the Milliners Guild, creating and wearing her own handmade hats.
