Ivana Carman

Ivana Carman is a visual artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, printmaking, collage, drawing, and ceramics. Through luminous colors, tactile gestures, and screen-printed digital imagery, she navigates the liminal space between representation and abstraction, deconstructing realistic scenes through material exploration. By disrupting naturalistic space in unconventional ways, Carman challenges traditional representations of the landscape and invites viewers to consider the evolving relationship between humanity, technology, and the environment.

Carman holds a Visual Arts MFA from Columbia University in New York and a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She was a recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant and featured in New American Paintings, ArtForum, and Create! Magazine. Carman’s work has been exhibited at UMass Lowell, Lowell, MA; Another Gallery LA, Los Angeles, CA; Another Place, New York, NY; Chung National University, Seoul, Korea; Lenfest Center for the Arts, New York, NY; Works on Paper Gallery, Philadelphia, PA; The Woodmere Art Museum, Philadelphia, PA; The Glessner House Museum, Chicago, IL; and Sullivan Galleries, Chicago, IL, among others. Carman lives and works in New York, NY.
