Jessica Pierson (she/her) joined the Columbia community in 2017. An alumna of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, she earned a Master's degree in Human Rights Studies from the Institute for the Study of Human Rights. Before joining the School of the Arts in 2023, she served as Assistant Director of Programs at Columbia Law School’s Human Rights Institute and as Student Services Coordinator for the Department of Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics at the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science. Prior to coming to Columbia, she had a decade’s long career as a performing artist. She attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and earned a BFA in Musical Theatre from The New School. Outside of Columbia, she volunteers for the International Alliance of Women, where she is the Regional Coordinator for North America and the alternate representative to the United Nations.
