Lane Relyea

Lane Relyea is author of Your Everyday Art World (MIT Press 2013), a study of the effects of communication networks on artistic practice and its contexts. Since 1983 his essays and reviews have appeared in numerous magazines including Artforum, Afterall, Art in America, Flash Art, Frieze, Parkett, Modern Painters and Texte zur Kunst. He has published numerous monographs on leading contemporary artists and contributed to such exhibition catalogs as Helter Skelter (1992) and Public Offerings (2001), and has also delivered lectures at New York's Museum of Modern Art, Harvard University and the Art Institute of Chicago among other venues. In the summer of 2012 he began a three-year term as editor-in-chief of Art Journal, a quarterly magazine published by the College Art Association.
