Alumna Tara Ahmadinejad ‘14 directs Ski Hole, created by Piehole and with a cast including Columbia acting alumna Toni Ann DeNoble ‘14, at the New Ohio Theater from April 30 – May 19.
Ski End follows a group of 30-something urbanites who find themselves stuck in an abandoned ski shop, filled with a skate ramp, dead birds, and old banners. “From these clues they ritualistically reanimate a bygone world of Ski, until they incite a cosmic force,” the company’s website proclaims. “Rising from the ruins of economic and environmental dread, Piehole’s Ski End examines chronic patterns of apocalyptic despair and what it takes to face The Sublime.”
Ahmadinejad is a core member of Piehole, a company dedicated to collaboration and shared authorship, and she has directed and co-created shows since its founding in 2008.

“Director Tara Ahmadinejad demonstrated an impeccable control of rhythm throughout the piece, executed by a fantastic team of actors,” wrote Mitchell Conway for NY Theater Now in a review of another Piehole production, Hand Foot Fizzle Face. “This thoughtful work is an indication they are a company to keep a look out for.”
Ahmadinejad is a New York director, originally from Philadelphia. She has served on the selection committee for the Puppeteers of America Endowment fund, and has assisted Dan Rothenberg, Jay Scheib, and Kristin Marting.

Piehole has received residencies from New York Theatre Workshop, The Drama League, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council's Workspace program, and most recently, The New Ohio/IRT Archive Residency, and grants from the Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Fund, the BAX Space program, the Mental Insight Foundation, and Puppeteers of America.

Ski End will run at the New Ohio Theater from April 30 - May 19. Tickets are $20 for students and $25 general admission and available here.
