Theatre Arts: Theatre Practicum III: Acting for the Camera

Bookmark and Share

Professor:

John Erman

A workshop for MFA theatre actors and MFA film directors. This class explores the differences between stage and film acting techniques. The class has two goals. It develops the film director's technique and vocabulary in working with actors, and it trains actors in the craft of acting for the camera.

Directors will be teamed with actors to work on assigned scenes, which will then be presented to the class and videoed. The scenes will be analyzed in terms of the work between actors and directors as well as the presentation of the actor on camera.

See Theatre Arts MFA Program page for all course information and requirements.
