Theatre Arts: Directed Studies

Professor:

Kelly Stuart

This course focuses on reading and discussion of the student's full length works in order to help refine drafts of new work. In tandem there will be reading and discussion and writing exercises based on Shakespeare's history plays (Richard II, Henry IV parts 1 and 2, Henry V, Henry VI parts 1, 2, and 3, and Richard III).

The goal is to examine how narrative functions in a larger context- both politically and culturally, as well as looking at how Shakespeare used time (and timing) as a dramatic element.

Second years, Fall. See Theatre Arts MFA Program page for all course information and requirements.
