THE YOUNG COMPANY: MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING By WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE Directed by Jimmy Maize ('12SOA) March 6 - 18, 2012 CSC reunites with the Graduate Acting Program of the Columbia School of the Arts for the seventh year of THE YOUNG COMPANY, CSC's unique, nationally-recognized Education and Outreach Initiative that has greatly impacted the lives of thousands of NYC public schoolchildren throughout the five boroughs. Come and experience Shakespeare's most cherised lovers in this merry battle of hearts and wits. Classic Stage Company (CSC), the 43-year-old award-winning Off-Broadway theatre, is gearing up for the sixth season of THE YOUNG COMPANY, our wildly popular Education and Outreach program. THE YOUNG COMPANY is a past recipient of the prestigious Shakespeare in American Communities Grant from the National Endowment of the Arts and Arts Midwest. Through performances and workshops, THE YOUNG COMPANY strives to make classical theatre alive and accessible to young people. We hope to bring our workshops to your school, and have your students come to our theatre for our production of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. THE YOUNG COMPANY is composed of graduate actors from Columbia University's School of the Arts' MFA Acting Program, led by theatre legends Andrei Serban and Kristin Linklater. In addition to being the company of performers in our production of As You Like It, these actors will come to your school and teach your students in a dynamic six-workshop series.
