"The Theatre Arts Program at Columbia University School of the Arts built a safe frame from which I was able to surround myself with like-minded colleagues. They constantly impressed and pushed me to think outside of my box. We were encouraged at every opportunity to take risks in an environment in which it was normal to fail. Those were the best lessons I ever learned. That environment taught me to be fearless in my process, something which I have continued to try and do. Having been out in the work force for only two years, I am continually stumbling across peers from the program, which allows for a huge sense of camaraderie in the rehearsal room. It is a family, we speak the same language and we come from a similar school of thought; and nothing is as comforting and inspiring than to know that there are like-minded artists in this business. In a world where theatre isn’t necessarily given its worth, it is so important to surround oneself with those like-minded artists. To me, Columbia has definitely been that experience. I will forever be indebted to my professors for never ceasing in their effort to guide me in the most creative and experiential way. I am so grateful. Thank you, thank you, thank you."
