Film Faculty Bogdan George Apetri's Outbound became the most nominated Romanian film of 2011 at the Gopos, the Romanian Oscars, with 12 nominations including Best Film and Best Director. more ►

Students Premiere Films at New Directors/New Films and Cleveland International Film Festivals
Collin Elliot’s (5th year Directing) film Giongo has been selected in the Shorts category for New Directors/New Films, where it will have its premiere. Olivia Newman (5th year Screenwriting) was the sound mixer. more ►
Elliot’s film Lucky Duck will premiere at the Cleveland International Film Festival in the Ohio Shorts program. Andrew Hauser (4th year Producing) is the producer, Rafael Lessa ('11) and Newman are both co-producers.  more ►
 
Alumnus Film Picked Up by Sony Pictures Classics
James Ponsoldt's ('05 SOA) Smashed picked up by Sony Pictures Classics. Smashed premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival to positive reviews and stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Aaron Paul (BREAKING BAD),and Octavia Spencer. more ►

Alumni Produced Film Receives Fusion Award, and is a part of LOGO's Summer Series
The Skinny, directed by Patrik-Ian Polk and produced by Ben Feuer (4th year Screenwriting) will premiere on the closing night of Outfest: Fusion on March 24th, where it will receive the 2012 Fusion Award.  It will next screen at BFI's Lesbian & Gay Film Festival on March 31st.  It will have its limited release theatrical premiere on April 6th, and will be screening as part of LOGO Television's  "Hot Summer Nights" series in August.
