Swamplandia! by Karen Russell ('06 SOA) Named NY Times' Ten Best of '11, to Air on HBO

Karen Russell's ('06 SOA) most recent novel Swamplandia! was listed as one of "The Ten Best Books of 2011" by The New York Times.

The book has also been picked up by HBO and will air as a half-hour comedy. Scott Rudin will serve as executive producer, with Russell consulting. 

Swamplandia! revolves around Ava Bigtree, a 12-year-old alligator wrestler who embarks on an improbable journey through the mangrove wilderness of southwest Florida as she searches for her lost sister.
