The Hispanic Scholarship Fund/McNamara Family Creative Arts Project has awarded 5th year directing student Wendy James with a grant for her thesis film, Savage, produced by Laurie Thomas (SOA '12) and 3rd year producer, Alexandra Vivas.
The 2012 Telluride Film Festival honored Revolution Reykjavik, directed by Isold Uggadóttir (’11 SOA), and Delicacy, directed by Jason Mann (3rd year Directing), as two of the nine selections for the “Student Prints” program.

Motherland, by Columbia University School of the Arts Film Program alumnus Shariq Siddiqui ('11 SOA) won the Audience Prize for Best Short Film at the first edition of the Champs-Elysées Film Festival. The festival ran June 6 - 12, 2012 in Paris, and was co-presided by actors Lambert Wilson and Michael Madsen.more
