
Interdisciplinary Arts Council Art Works Grant
Art Works is a grant program created by the Interdisciplinary Arts Council (IAC) to support innovation in interdisciplinary extracurricular new work and/or initiatives of graduate students in Columbia University School of the Arts (SOA). Please read all attached information before submitting an application.
ART WORKS OVERVIEW
The mission of Art Works is to motivate groundbreaking new work and interdisciplinary initiatives in the following areas: artistic excellence in new work, interdepartmental collaboration, professional development of SOA graduate students, and/or initiatives with significant community impact. Community-based initiatives that have long-term sustainability and projects fostering interdepartmental collaboration will be given priority
Grants are awarded on a case-by-case basis by members of the Interdisciplinary Arts Council and range from $300-$1000. These grants are provided to the recipient in the form of reimbursement when the project is completed. The amount of each individual grant is determined by the IAC and based on project needs.
Two (2) weeks after the completion of the awarded project, a Final Report must be submitted to the Interdisciplinary Arts Council, detailing the goals achieved by the artists. Along with the Final Report, a reimbursement and expenditure report as well as receipts must be submitted in order for recipient to receive the grant funds. In addition, new work and initiatives must provide documentation/work samples to be showcased on the IAC website and must credit “Columbia University’s Interdisciplinary Arts Council Art Works” as a sponsor.
