Lisa Rubin ’13 has two major projects in the works: Netflix recently picked up her original series Gypsy, and she has been hired by Dreamworks to adapt the hit novel Food Whore for the screen.

Netflix ordered 10 episodes of Gypsy, a psychological thriller about a psychiatrist who develops unhealthy relationships with the people in her patients’ lives. Rubin will write and executive produce alongside Liza Chasin, the president of Working Title Films.

Food Whore, based on Jessica Tom’s novel of the same name, tells the story of a young foodie named Tia Monroe, who after graduating from college goes to New York City to break into the food scene. The New York Post described the novel as the “‘The Devil Wears Prada’ goes gourmet.”
