Film MFA: Scenes and Short Screenplays

Bookmark and Share

Professor:

Dan Kleinman

A writing workshop for students in the second year of the graduate program. Students write and develop two to four short screenplays over the course of a semester. These may be suitable for production at Columbia, but do not have to be.

Because the scripts are short we have ample time to focus on small-scale craft issues -- scene construction, beats and pacing, dialogue, turning points in scenes, and screenwriting style.
