24th Annual Columbia University Film Festival Presents:
Forman/Hausman

Tuesday, May 3, 7 pm
Miller Theatre

Two filmmaking giants, Milos Forman (School of the Arts Film Program Professor Emeritus and Founding Chair) and Michael Hausman (Film Program Faculty) will present their first work together, Taking Off (1971).

The collaboration between Forman and Hausman is unique within the history of cinema. Never have a director and producer worked together on so many films for so many years. The Columbia University Film Festival is honored to present this event, with a screening of the film that started it all, the rare Taking Off, a brilliant, colorful movie that blends comedy and musical.

After the screening, the two filmmakers will meet the audience to share stories, their movies, and the reasons their collaboration has lasted so long. Film producer and Columbia University School of the Arts Film Program Professor Ira Deutchman will moderate this Q&A.

Tickets for this event are $15 ($10 for students; $7 for CU students), and can be purchased through the
Miller Theater box office.
