Film Alum Wins Silver Bear at Berlin Film Festival

Columbia University School of the Arts Film Program alumnus Florin Serban (SOA'08) won the Silver Bear: Jury Grand Prize at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival—the runner-up to best picture at the festival—for his film Eu cand vreau sa fluier, fluier (If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle). The festival closed February 21.

Serban also won the festival's Alfred Bauer Prize.

Additionally, Film Program alumna Lisa Cholodenko (SOA'97) won the festival's Teddy - Queer Film Award: Best Feature Film for her film The Kids Are All Right.
