An introduction to classical film theory, from its beginnings to early feminist theory. Readings include works by Eisenstein, Pudovkin, Dziga-Vertov, the Russian Formalists, Bazin, Munsterberg, Deren,Brakhage, Arnheim, Kracaueur, and Mulvey.
