Joan Jonas ('65) to Represent United States at 2015 Venice Biennale
Joan Jonas ('65) was selected by the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, which promotes cultural exchanges worldwide, to represent the United States at the 56th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, which runs from May 9 through November 22, 2015. Geoffrey O’Brien is the author of sixteen books, including six collections of poetry, the most recent being Early Autumn. His prose books include The Phantom Empire, Sonata for Jukebox and Stolen Glimpses, Captive Shadows: Writing on Film 2002-2012. O'Brien contributes frequently to The New York Review of Books on subjects including film, opera, jazz and popular music, and poetry, and to other publications including Film Comment and Bookforum.
