Clarence Coo Receives Whiting Award
Clarence Coo '10, a School of the Arts Theatre Program alumnus and current Manager of Academic Administration for the Writing Program, has received a Whiting Award, one of the most prestigious awards for emerging writers, for his work as a playwright.
Geoffrey O’Brien is the author of sixteen books, including six collections of poetry, the most recent being Early Autumn. His prose books include The Phantom Empire, Sonata for Jukebox and Stolen Glimpses, Captive Shadows: Writing on Film 2002-2012. O'Brien contributes frequently to The New York Review of Books on subjects including film, opera, jazz and popular music, and poetry, and to other publications including Film Comment and Bookforum. He is editor-in-chief of The Library of America.
