Student Group Spotlight: CA/T (Columbia Artists/Teachers)
Periodically, we’ll be spotlighting various student organizations within Columbia’s graduate Writing Program. For this edition, we spoke with CA/T, a group that enables students in the Writing Program to teach writing classes in local high schools, at Columbia, and beyond.
Wed, Nov 5, 6:30 pm Buell Hall, Maison Française
(use main campus entrance 116th & Broadway)
Isaac Mizrahi, director of the recently restaged production of The Magic Flute, and Writing faculty Susan Bernofsky discuss the process, challenges and joys of reimagining this classic Mozart opera. Mizrahi, who also designed the costumes and set, worked collaboratively with choreographer John Heginbotham, and Bernofsky, who wrote a new libretto based on Emanuel Schikaneder’s original.
