7 Columbia Films to Screen at Toronto International Film Festival
Seven films by Columbia students, alumni or faculty members have been chosen to screen at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. A total of 18 Columbia filmmakers were involved in the making of the selected films, three of which are features and four shorts.

Isaac Mizrahi, director of the recently restaged production of The Magic Flute, and Writing faculty Susan Bernofsky discuss the process, challenges and joys of reimagining this classic Mozart opera. Mizrahi, who also designed the costumes and set, worked collaboratively with choreographer John Heginbotham, and Bernofsky, who wrote a new libretto based on Emanuel Schikaneder’s original.
