The Creative Writing Lecture Series brings renowned writers to Columbia to deliver talks on the subtleties of literary craft. The first year of the series, 2007-2008, offered talks from writers such as Zadie Smith, James Wood, Jorie Graham, Philip Gourevitch, and George Saunders, among others, and covered a range of tantalizing topics. The series continues this year with another extraordinary line-up, among them: Charles Baxter, Helen Vendler, John D'Agata, and Daniel Mendelsohn. The talks are free and open to the public. Sponsored by the Writing Program at Columbia University's School of the Arts.
