Eleven School of the Arts Film students and alumni contributed to films which were selected to screen at the 18th Annual Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, January 20-26.
Holiday Road, co-directed by Bobby Miller (’09 SOA), was selected for the Special Screenings: Narrative category. It is a feature-length comedic anthology celebrating the hilarious, poignant and absurd aspects of America's twelve most recognized holidays.
Christina Choe’s (4th year Directing) film, I Am John Wayne, has been awarded the Grand Jury Sparky Award for Short Film at the Slamdance Film Festival. The film is produced by Esra Saydam (4th year Producing), co-produced by Mimi Jeffries (4th year Directing) and Gerry Kim (’11), and edited by David Gutnik (5th year Screenwriting), will screen as part of the narrative shorts program. Carmen Jimenez (4th year Screenwriting) and Jennie Allen (4th year Screenwriting) were Assistant Directors, Asa Hjorleifsdottir (4th year Directing) was the Script Supervisor, Konstantinos Antonopoulos (4th year Directing) was the Grip, and Luigi Campi (4th year Directing) was the 2nd A.C.
