In August 2011, Columbia University School of the Arts and Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, launched an academic exchange project by inviting 6 Columbia alumni to lecture at Los Andes University in the course "Critical Dialogues - Guest Lecturers" organized by Miguel Cárdenas.

The lectures were open to the general public, and during their stay the visiting alumni met for group conversations with the students, organized workshops, visited the local museums, artist's studios as well as the effervescent artfairs such as ArtBO, Feria ODEON and La Otra.

The guest lecturers also traveled around Colombia: they were invited to the contemporary art museum in Pereira to lecture on their work and give workshops while exploring the city with local artists and students. Visits to Villa e Leyva and the Caribbean coast gave the guests a sample of the cultural richness and prosperity of the country.

Guest Lecturers Incuded:
Camila Marambio: Curatorial Studies / Art History MFA 04
Fabienne Lasserre: MFA 04
Francesca DiMattio: MFA 05
Garth Weiser: MFA 05
Tomas Vu Daniel: Faculty
Rirkrit Tiravanija: Faculty
