A film series at BAM called Migrating Forms, which opens December 11, will feature films by two School of Arts alumni. This festival presents some "of the most audacious moving-image work from the film and art world," and according to Film Comment, boasts "the highest revelation-per-event ratios of any festival in New York."
To commemorate the one year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy, the Dedalus Foundation, the Brooklyn Rail, and the Jamestown Charitable Foundation join with Industry City Associates to present a nearly 100,000 square foot exhibition entitled Come Together: Surviving Sandy, Year 1.
On November 1, Performa 13, a biennial featuring new works of visual and performing arts, will come to over 40 venues in New York City. Performa focuses on cross-generational, cross-disciplinary artistic collaboration and supports the work of well-established artists as well as up-and-comers.
