Rebecca Thomas’ (3rd year Directing) Electric Children, produced by Jessica Caldwell (3rd year Producing), has been selected for the Generation 14plus competition at the 2011 Berlinale. The film, about a Mormon girl who turns up pregnant and claims to have had an immaculate conception from listening to rock and roll, stars Rory Culkin, Billy Zane and Julia Garner. Andrew Hauser (4th year Producing) was the Post Supervisor, Elisa Lleras (4th year Producing) was the Pre-Production Co-ordinatior, David Figueroa (4th year Directing) was the Digital Imaging technician, Berkley Brady (3rd year Directing) was the Art Director, and Luigi Campi (4th year Directing) was the Director’s Assistant.
 
 


Á annan veg (Either Way), a feature film written and directed by Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigurdsson (’08) and produced by Tobias Munthe (’08), won Best Film and Best Screenplay at the 2011 Torino Film Festival.

 
 
 

The Strange Ones, a thesis film written and directed by Lauren Wolkstein (’10) and Chris Radcliff (’10), produced by Joonhan Lee (4th year Producing), won Best Film at Villeurbanne ShortFilm Festival in Lyon and the Special Jury Award at the Soria International Short Film Festival in Spain.

 
 
 

Babyland, written and directed by Marc Fratello ('10) as his thesis film and produced by Tobey List (’10), and High Maintenance, another thesis project written and directed by Shawn Wines (5th year Directing) and produced by Brigitte Liebowitz (’10), have both made the Viewfinder List for 2011, which is the entertainment industry’s selection of the top 10 short films, commercials and music videos, as voted for by top studio executives, producers and creatives.

 
 
 

Under, directed by Mark Raso (4th year Directing), written by Jake Crane (4th year Screenwriting) and Raso, and produced by Jean-Marceau Sécheret (’11), received the Cine Golden Eagle Award in the Student Division.

 
 

A Viagem (The Trip), written and directed by Simão Cayatte (4th year Directing) and produced by Elisa Lleras (4th year Producing), has been selected for the competition programme of this year's Kustendorf Film Festival organized by Emir Kusturica.
 
 
 

Boomerang, written and directed by Andy Nguyen (4th year Directing), has won the Playboy Shorts Series: Bombay Sapphire Imaginative Filmmakers Spotlight competition and will play at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival during the Playboy/Bombay Sapphire event. The film was produced by Gerry Kim (’11) and Esra Saydam (4th year Producing). Saro Varjabedian (4th year Directing) was the Director of Photography,

 
 
 

First Match, written and directed by Olivia Newman (5th year Screenwriting), produced by Ken Murphy (4th year Producing), and co-produced by Chanelle Elaine (5th year Producing) and Veronica Nickel (’10), was a recipient of the 2011 CINE Golden Eagle Award.
