Laurie Anderson (BC’69, SOA’72, HON’05) received her MFA in sculpture from Columbia in 1972, but went on to establish herself as a boundary-crossing artist whose works merge music and performance in new experimental combinations. On Feb. 10, Anderson returned to campus to speak at Miller Theatre as part of “Refiguring the Spiritual,” a yearlong conversation series that examines the intersection of spirituality and the visual arts. The series is a collaborative effort between the School of the Arts Visual Arts Program and the Institute for Religion, Culture and Public Life.
